Swasthya, meaning Health in the Hindi language. It is a journal for professionals.
Late Martin Luther King Jr once said,
In keeping with this thought, the idea for Swasthya, aimed at promoting ‘access to affordable healthcare for all’, the idea for the publication was incubated.
Swasthya is an independent publication aimed at providing a professional forum for clinicians and managers involved in planning and improving quality of delivering of healthcare services for sharing best practices, innovations and potential solutions to challenges. It features expert reviews, and provocative comment and opinion in mental health, providing a clear, independent perspective about the clinical advances and practices, and changing research shaping specialties globally. Its contents are intended to encourage knowledge and skill share and providing opportunities for showcasing achievements in academic and clinical career, research and innovation contributing towards better outcomes for the patients.
In this new era of fast-growing technological advances in medical science, the biggest challenge for ‘global healthcare’ is an affordable accessibility of even basic healthcare at the point of need. It counts for a large number of fatalities and sufferings that could have been prevented, given the potential that exists in terms of diagnosis, treatment and aftercare capability across international communities.
There is a huge gap of disparity of resources, including availability of training and skills development opportunities of professionals as much as clinical management facilities that can be a part of the evolution of improving quality of care and outcome for the patients. There is constant demand for more financial support, yet equally thee is an element of neglect, ill planning and affinity with those who are least equipped for tackling the change they face in providing any meaningful healthcare provisions. Often these includes many parts in the world that are known for their development and riches. The evil of pandemics such as the COVID19, Tuberculosis and many other communicable infections conditions presents us with a massive dilemma as it sees no boundaries of land, politics or religion when strikes anywhere. Both the mental health and holistic approach to wellbeing are becoming hot topics amongst the professionals and critical for the public health professionals. The collectiveness efforts rests upon sharing the knowledge and sills and combining the strength of the resources for it’s effective distribution where needed most.
Swasthya, team is committed to be part of this effort. We are fortunate to have a team of medical experts to guide the editorial policies for this not-for-profit publication. We intend to cover a wide range of issues in relation to planning and delivery of health services. Both educational and development of skills will be aligned with innovation and research to showcase the best examples of good practice and promote achievements. Our readership is reaching out to many of those healthcare providers and as well as in inspection and regulatory activities for improving care. It is vital that those placed in the position of influencing changes are part of our campaign to the sharing of solutions to
